Man Utd star Fred spotted in private chat with Marco Silva

Manchester United star Fred was spotted deep in conversation with Fulham boss Marco Silva after the two clubs’ Premier League clash on Sunday. According to one fan who spotted the incident, Silva had quickly emerged from Fulham’s team coach to chat with the Brazilian, who has been linked with the Cottagers.

Fred started United’s 2-1 win over Fulham and grabbed an assist before his substitution on 66 minutes. However, the 30-year-old midfielder has been linked with a summer exit from Old Trafford.

His contract ends in a year’s time and he could be one of a few fringe players sold by United to raise funds for a big-spending summer transfer window. Fulham are one of the clubs who have been linked with Fred.

And that speculation increased when the former Shakhtar Donetsk ace was spotted chatting to Silva after United defeated Fulham. Twitter user @niamhutd captured the conversation, and claimed that Silva had run off the team coach to speak with Fred.

According to the Daily Mail, Fred is among the stars that could be offloaded by the United hierarchy. The Brazil international is supposedly surplus to requirements as Erik ten Hag bids to raise funds to improve his squad.

Several other clubs are also linked with Fred, who has been at United since a £52million move from Shakhtar in 2018. He could be sold so United can fund a £100m move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

A striker is supposedly the priority for United’s hierarchy. England captain Kane is reportedly Ten Hag’s preferred option, with his Spurs contract entering the final 12 months this summer.

Kane is unlikely to pen an extended deal with Spurs and could explore his options once the transfer window opens. The 29-year-old scored 30 Premier League goals last season, with only Erling Haaland bagging more.

United’s win over Fulham ensured they finished third in the top-flight. Ten Hag oversaw a swift recovery after a dismal start to his time in charge at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman is now desperate to build on a positive first year and has demanded that he is backed in the transfer market. He said: “The club knows that if you want to play top four, if you want to compete for trophies in this tough league, you have to invest, otherwise you won’t progress because other clubs will.

“We saw it in the winter. All the clubs around us invested. We didn’t and still we made it. So I am really happy and proud of my team.”
