Declan Rice

The England midfielder is poised to join the Gunners this summer. They have already seen two bids rejected for Rice however it is understood that a settlement is not far.

But complicating things for the North London side, Manchester City seem to now have joined the race. City have reportedly proposed a similar but better deal for Rice who now looks to make a tough choice.
However, which movement can be better for him? Here we have taken a look-

Arsenal

Arsenal under Mikel Arteta has been a force to be reckoned with. The north Londoners boast a young but vibrant squad that pushed Manchester City to the end in the Premier League last season. Rice could be the leader in this setup and be a defining cog in an evolving Arsenal midfield.

At 24 years of age, this is what every footballer desires. Moreover, securing a move to London will see him staying at his current home and family, which is an added bonus. However, the Gunners are still a team on the learning curve, and securing trophies could be a thing of concern for him.

Manchester City

A move to Etihad however could improve his profile with an immediate effect. Playing in a star-studded midfield will enable his potential further. The 24-year-old’s strength of breaking up opposition attacks and anchoring defensive movement into attack perfectly fits into the dominance and possession Guardiola expects from his team.

It has been evident now that the Spanish manager helps develop young prodigies to reach an elusive height and that could also be tempting for Rice.

Moving to a club that has just swept away all the trophies, the super-powerful team that has made victory an inevitability, may appear to be the most profitable choice for Rice.

But a potential move to Etihad could also see Rice agreeing to some limitations. Due to a considerable number of midfield pool, Guardiola is likely to rotate the combination which can see Rice getting a limited role than Arsenal. Moreover, he has to shift his base from away from family to Manchester from London.

In terms of footballing aspects, both moves generate positive and negative attributes. Now it is up to the West Ham midfielder to choose the club of his preference in the upcoming weeks.
