Manchester United lost 2-1 at the hands of Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday (June 3). Ilkay Gundogan scored a brace for the Cityzens whereas a controversial penalty from Bruno Fernandes proved to be only a consolation for the Red Devils.

United won the Carabao Cup earlier this season. And it would have been perfect had they won the FA Cup as well, which would have meant two trophies in the first season under Erik Ten Hag. But their dismal luck of late in the tournament continued as United suffered the defeat.
And after the match, United boss said his team fought back and troubled City.
“We fought back, I think we are the only team in the world capable of fighting back against Manchester City,” the United boss said after the match.
But it was yet another defeat for them in the oldest cup tournament of football, which has earned them the title ‘Bridesmaids’.
