It should never be anyone’s first choice to blow the speed limit, let alone on an icy road, but hair we are.

Earlier this week, a Manitoba RCMP officer clocked at 24-year-old driver whipping down a very icy Highway 9 at 135 km/h, 65 over the posted limit of 70 km/h. Double doubles may be good for your coffee order, but not for speed limits.
The male driver, who we’ll call Bob, smartly opted not to tell a bald-faced lie and admitted to police that he was late for a haircut.
Poor time management ended up costing Bob $1,573; $901 for speeding and $672 for careless driving. Tack on a serious offence notice for good measure and the trifecta of hare-brained decision making consequences is complete. Interestingly, no ticket was issued for the partially snow-covered rear license plate seen in the image — still, we hope he could still afford his haircut.

Thankfully, the older Ford F-150 he was driving didn’t cut anyone off and hopefully didn’t weave around other vehicles. Aside from his bank account, there were no injuries.
A thin excuse of being late for a haircut isn’t stylish, and doesn’t gel well with responsible driving.
If only poor-time-management-Bob knew a better short cut…
