Victor Wembanyama received a warm welcome to the San Antonio Spurs organization from four franchise legends.
On Saturday, the No. 1 pick posted a photo alongside Manu Ginobili, Sean Elliott, Tim Duncan, and David Robertson. Wembanyama wrote that he “couldn’t ask for better role models.”
Ginobili, the shortest person in the group at 6-foot-6, commented on Twitter.
“I guess I’m the point guard in this squad,” Ginobili wrote. “Great to meet you,
@vicw_32! And always a pleasure to spend time with Sean, 50 and TD.”

Unlike Wembanyama, Ginobili lasted until the No. 57 pick of the 1999 NBA Draft. He spent three seasons in Italy before commencing a 16-year career in San Antonio.
The guard won four championships alongside Duncan and Tony Parker. Robinson and Elliott also brought San Antonio a title before Duncan’s arrival as the No. 1 pick in 1997.
The Spurs have gone four years without a playoff drought after two dominant decades. Wembanyama faces outsized expectations to restore the franchise’s past prestige.
