Margot Robbie Just Wore the Comeback Heel Trend That Could Replace Platforms

Margot Robbie has some of the best red carpet (and IRL) style in Hollywood, so we always pay attention to what she wears. She’s currently doing some press for the upcoming film Asteroid City, and just wore a chic black-and-white Schiaparelli Haute Couture look to the New York premiere. And she paired the peplum corset and pleated miniskirt with a shoe trend that’s far removed from the towering platforms that have been the norm on the red carpet in recent memory. That trend is pumps—the OG heel style.

You may be thinking, but pumps are classic so why are you calling them a trend? Good question. Truth be told, we’ve been taking pumps for granted in recent seasons as flashier styles like platforms and wedge and sculptural heels have been at the forefront, but the F/W 23 runways of Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Loewe, and more indicated that pumps are very much cool and “in” again, regardless of their classic status. Accordingly, we’ve seen more and more instances of celebs wearing them this year. (And for what it’s worth, pumps have been the go-to of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle for years.)

Robbie opted for a simple pair of black suede pumps, which you can never go wrong with. Scroll to see her sophisticated look for the premiere and shop some of the best pumps on the market.
