Mark Wright has revealed that he is now cancer-free after having a 4.7inch tumour removed from his armpit.
The former TOWIE star, 34, initially chose to share his cancer-scare story in the hopes that speaking out could help save lives.
The reality TV star underwent surgery earlier this month to have the huge tumour removed and he took to Instagram to share the details of how he went to get a second opinion when one doctor told him the lump was likely just ‘fatty tissue’.
After having the 4.7inch tumour removed, Mark has now shared the happy news that he is cancer free ahead of Christmas.
Taking to Instagram to share the positive health update, Mark told his followers: “I got the all-clear the other day, it’s cancer free.
“It’s in the past, we move on. I feel so, so lucky.
“I’ve had the worry and anxiety of what this could have been.”
Mark also detailed the effect his health scare had on his wife, Michelle Keegan, and the rest of his loved ones.
“I’m not gonna lie, it really gave me and my family a scare,” Mark shared.
“Going back to this operation, I have not been able to train for two weeks. This is the first longish walk I have been on since the operation, so the first bit of exercise I have been able to do and honestly just already my head is clear.
“Staying in and recovering has left me feeling a little bit low and not very motivated.”
Earlier this month, Mark opened up after undergoing surgery to remove the lump – which was clearly visible on his body before the procedure.
Sharing a topless picture of himself that showed the lump in his armpit, he penned: “Ok, it’s been a tough call whether or not to speak about this.

“One part of me wants to keep something like this private and the other part is thinking, if I can help/potentially save 1 person, well…. this is the right thing to do.
“So here goes. I discovered a lump in my breast/armpit area. Not very big, but enough to cause concern and to be cautious enough to get it checked. I saw a doctor who passed it on as “a fatty lump that doesn’t need any treatment” so I just left it.
“After some time the lump grew and began to bother me. I am someone that when it comes to life in general, I leave no stone unturned. When it involves health, this idiom quadruples.”

Mark went on to encourage others to get their lumps and bumps checked right away.
“MORAL OF THE STORY: If you notice anything that doesn’t look or feel quite right. Don’t leave it,” he insisted.
“Nothing in life is more important than your health and well-being. Get checked, check yourself and make sure you take good care of yourself.”
