Mikel Arteta defends Arsenal players after Claudio Ranieri accusation
Martin Odegaard has admitted he was left frustrated after Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tapped in his goalbound effort.
The Norwegian has scored just once since making his move to north London permanent from Real Madrid in the summer.
That strike came back in September, with Odegaard’s barren run now stretching to six Premier League matches.
That looked destined to be ending when the 22-year-old slotted past Watford ‘keeper Ben Foster during the Gunners’ most recent outing.
However, with the ball appearing to be destined for the bottom corner, an offside Aubameyang slid to poke the ball home.

The goal was correctly ruled out for offside, forcing Arsenal to hang on to their narrow 1-0 lead over the Hornets.
And Odegaard, who has also only registered one assist this season, said he knew Aubameyang was offside and was annoyed that he was denied another goal.
“It was a pity. I saw it nicely from the side, it was going in,” the Arsenal star told Norway’s TV2. “I knew as soon as he touched it that he was offside. It was frustrating, but we won. If they had equalised, it would have been tougher!”
Odegaard is away on international duty, knowing two victories would see Norway qualify at the expense of the Netherlands.
Speaking ahead of the make-or-break qualifiers with Latvia and Netherlands, Odegaard revealed he has deleted his social media accounts and urged other young players to do the same.
“It’s been a while since [my Twitter account was active], really. It was really because I never used it and had no need for it,” Odegaard explained.
“I never used it and had no need for it. I think a lot of s*** in general is on there. I have no need to be on it.

“I probably did not have a Twitter update for a long time, then I thought there was no point in having it, so then I just deleted it.”
He added: “A lot of it is anonymous and a lot of it is weird. It’s a little scary that if you are not completely in the right headspace, you can be influenced by such things.
“I would especially say to young players that one should be careful not to look too much at such things. It can be a lot of negative stuff.”
