It all happens at Da Vinci Hotel and Suites in Sandton on Saturday 11 December when Spider-Man and Black Panther will be scaling down the building, wowing spectators gathered on the pool deck below.
The event, hosted by the hotel and CCM South Africa, showcases the skills of the dedicated staff who continue to maintain the hotel property despite the downturn in business for South Africa’s hospitality sector as a result of the ongoing slump in tourist arrivals.
HARD TIMES FOR SANDTON HOTELS
A number of Sandton’s hotels have been mothballed during the extended lockdown, which has resulted in hard times for the country’s hospitality and tourism. Hotels have had to keep up their maintenance and cleaning efforts with reduced incomes and fewer overnight guests for nearly two years.
For hotels to be able to reopen to international guests when conditions allow facilities have to be maintained and standards have to be upheld. This is not an easy task when revenues are down or non-existent for several hotel properties.

SUPERHEROES ALL SET FOR HOTEL EVENT
A similar event took place on 20 November where Superman and Batman sailed down the side of the hotel to the surprise and excitement from families gathered below. Guests were also in for a treat as their childhood superheroes dashed past their rooms with their capes fluttering in the air!
The event provides an opportunity for families to get out and have a little fun. Spider-Man and Black Panther will be coming down the building while Superman and Batman will entertain kids on the pool deck.
Free glasses of bubbly will be on offer for parents and superhero-themed cupcakes and milkshakes to all kids.
