Marvel’s Midnight Suns best Blade cards and build guide

Vampiric Blood

Blade focuses on, you guessed it, the Bleed mechanic (i.e., damage-over-time). Many of his cards either apply the Bleed status, or add that perk to attacks. This slightly doesn’t mesh well with your normal gameplay, considering that you’re likely going for instant kills (i.e., Quick-boosted so you replenish the Card Play). You don’t really see the full potential of the DOT since (a) you could kill an enemy outright or (b) your team will probably take damage since the DOT only occurs after the enemy’s turn. Still, it’s quite valuable in prolonged encounters, especially when you’re battling bosses or tanky elites.

  • Passive: Cold Blooded – Chance to apply +1 Bleed when dealing damage.

Best Blade Skill Cards

  • Make ’em Bleed
    • Draw two cards; the next three damage cards apply +2 Bleed.
    • You’re going to need this often, preferably available at the start of your turn. It ensures that cards that don’t normally have the Bleed perk will gain it.
  • The Hunger
    • Apply +2 Marked to every enemy with Bleed; recover HP for every enemy with Bleed.
    • This is, by far, the best Blade card in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The goal here is to use cards like Make ’em Bleed or others that apply Bleed, then hit several foes. Follow this up by giving them the Marked debuff via The Hunger. Once your team takes them out, you’ll replenish the Card Play.

Best Blade Attack Cards

  • Quick Strike+
    • Quick; gains double the base damage as a bonus if the target already has Bleed.
    • Ideally, the target has to have Bleed so you can do more damage, but it’s still useful to replenish Card Play.
  • Strike+
    • Chain up to three enemies.
    • Assuming Make ’em Bleed has been activated and this popped up, then your three chained hits will cause foes to Bleed.
  • Reaper+
    • Consumes all Bleed stacks on a target to deal the remaining damage instantly; +1 Strengthened on KO.
    • This can wreck an opponent if you’ve already applied several stacks of Bleed on it.

Best Blade Heroic Cards

  • Daywalker+
    • Chain up to four enemies; draw a card for each KO.
    • Again, this is more about Bleed application, and maybe some extra cards if you manage to kill someone.
  • Glaive+ (Legendary/Heroic)
    • Damage and apply +2 Bleed to each enemy in an area; additional damage if the target already has Bleed; Exhaust.
    • This has a wide AoE, which means you’re going to hit and debuff a lot of hostiles.

Note: Legendary Cards are obtained by building the Armory and maxing out the Hunter’s Friendship Levels with another hero. This will unlock a solo puzzle encounter that you have to complete.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns best Blade build summary

  • Blade is both a DPS and a technical character. You don’t usually deal a ton of damage, but you can apply the Bleed status effect to help out the longer a battle lasts.
  • The goal is to reliably apply Bleed via the Make ’em Bleed card or the Cold Blooded passive. From there, you’ve got several options:
    • The upgraded Quick Strike has additional damage if a target is already bleeding, so you can get a KO and Card Play replenish by taking out regular enemies, not just fodder minions.
    • The Hunger applies Marked to all bleeding hostiles. Subsequent kills will replenish Card Plays.
    • You can cast Reaper on a single target that has several stacks for a deadly strike.
