A masked-up attorney who intruded into the MassGOP offices making threats is now accusing startled staffers of breathing on him.
This all comes as Woburn Police told the Herald Thursday they are still investigating the case. No arrest has been announced and the name of the suspect has not been made public.
“Now this guy wants charges brought against my staff because he said they were breathing on him. This guy should be arrested and charged,” said Jim Lyons, MassGOP chairman.
As the Herald first reported Thursday, the MassGOP communications director, a volunteer and a few others were at the headquarters as the man walked into the Woburn office in Cummings Park at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, and all of a sudden pointed a camera at them.
“They were scared,” Lyons said. Once in the hallway, the man shouted: “I’m going to come back with a weapon,” witnesses said.
Lyons said the Woburn Police were there in “no time” and were sympathetic to the plight of his rattled staff. Lyons was not in the office at the time.
Lyons said he’s working on a no-trespass order, but added the suspect — who shouted out his name to the workers — is a big donor to Democrats and Democratic causes. The Herald has not been able to reach the donor, yet.
