For a lot of people, Kyrie Irving can be as perplexing as he is talented. But Mavs owner Mark Cuban believes there’s a misconception about the eight-time All-Star.
“I think Kyrie’s just misunderstood,” Cuban told SiriusXM NBA Radio. “Everybody sees all the noise and everything around him. But when you actually talk to him, I like him. He’s open, he’s smart, he’s always looking to learn things… to me, he’s an interesting guy that’s just misunderstood.”

Cuban went on to say that his team made the move for Kyrie because they “wanted him to be a long-term piece” of the franchise.
The Mavs recently signed Irving to a three-year, $126 million contract, locking in their star-studded backcourt for at least the next few years.
Given Kyrie’s track record, it’s easy to see why some fans may be weary of such a deal. But Mark Cuban seems confident that everything’s going to work out this time around.
