McDonald’s has begun testing cold brew coffees in 600 restaurants throughout Southern California, according to a news release.
The chain is offering two beverages: cold brew served black over ice, and cold brew with a creamy syrup.
They will be available while supplies last at company-owned and franchise restaurants in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties, the new release said.
In a separate announcement on Monday, the fast food giant said it has made some tweaks to its burger recipes, including adding more sauce to its Big Macs, grilling onions on hamburger patties, adjusting grill tempatures to better sear the meat and using “softer, pillowy” buns.
The changes are being rolled out on the West Coast and will be nationwide by 2024, the news release said.
McDonald’s is currently serving a new Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry, made with shortbread cookie pieces.
