Tom Fletcher revealed he was going back to the hospital just weeks after he previously contracted an agonising eye condition.

Taking to his Instagram stories today he shared a photo while sat in the back of the car as the sombre-looking musician detailed his visit.

Tom, 37, captioned the photo: “Back to the eye hospital.”

The All About Us hitmaker didn’t reveal any more details about his condition in the candid social media post.

It comes just months after the guitarist spent part of his Easter weekend in A&E after the musician and singer contracted a debilitating eye condition for the third time, leaving him feeling “wiped out”.

Tom shared a snap of himself in an empty A&E waiting room as he joked that he was next to be seen.

Having returned home as he posed for a selfie with a notably sore-looking left eye.

“Home,” he wrote, at the time. “Another 6 weeks of steroid eye drops here we go”.

The dad-of-three later said he’d “literally been asleep all day” as he informed fans he’d contracted Uveitis for a third time.

Uveitis is inflammation of the middle layer of the eye, called the uvea or uveal tract. It can cause eye pain and changes to your vision.

Symptoms can include eye pain – usually a dull ache in or around your eye, eye redness, sensitivity to light and blurred or cloudy vision, according to the NHS.

Tom was previously rushed to hospital with a painful eye condition in the run-up to Christmas and had to undergo six weeks of steroid treatment.

He shared at the time: “Sorry I’ve been quiet for a bit. I was wiped out with some sort of illness and in bed for a few days.”

“I just got back on my feet yesterday and uveitis decided to kick me down again,” he added.
