Whilst the majority of boxing star Canelo Alvarez’s family life is often kept private, it is known that he is married to Mexican model Fernanda Gomez. Gomez has over one million followers on Instagram, and her activity on social media has given fans a glimpse into their relationship.
Gomez was born in Guadalajara, Mexico – the same area as Alvarez – on 3 July 1996, and is currently 26 years old. Like her husband, Gomez is also somewhat of a star in her home country, boasting such a large social media following.
The 26-year-old is both a social media influencer and a model, and also owns a boutique nail salon in her and Canelo’s home city. It is reported that the pair first met in 2016 at a charity gala and instantly connected.
Initially both Alvarez and Gomez looked to keep their relationship behind closed doors, but were finally found out after the couple were seen celebrating together in a Las Vegas nightclub after the boxer defeated Julio César Chávez Jr back in May 2017.

And this weekend is set to be no different, as the 32-year-old takes on his long-time rival Gennady Golovkin for the third time in Las Vegas. Their first meeting ended in a split decision draw, before Canelo finally got his win a year later after winning via a majority decision.
Heading into their trilogy fight, the Mexican seems more than confident to do the same again and become ‘the best boxer in history’. He said: “I am undisputed champion and apart from that I take risks that I have no need to in the position I am in, but I do it because I love boxing, I like challenges and I want to be the best in history.”
