Megan Fox’s dark cherry mani is the sultriest way to wear red nails this summer

One word we’d use to describe Megan Fox when it comes to beauty, is experimental. She moves from red carpet queen to goth-girl glam without missing a beat. Last year, she helped to re-establish Targaryen blonde as the cool-girl colour after switching out her famously dark hair for icy strands. Last month she served up butt-length mermaid waves for the cover of Sports Illustrated, and earlier this year, she unveiled a new shiny copper hair colour.

Now, she’s giving us some offbeat mani inspiration to tap into if we’re looking for something that requires a lot less commitment than shifting our hair colour. We spotted Megan out and about in London with Machine Gun Kelly when her nails caught our attention for two reasons: first, because of the sharp, dagger shape, and second, because she surprised us with a shade of dark cherry red that’s usually uncommon for summer.

While the shade may be a little unpredictable, Megan’s approach isn’t. The former Transformers actress has proven that she’s just as creative with her nail designs as she is with her hair colours. Recently she’s given us futuristic Barbie nails, zodiac nails and aura nails. But her current top coat is a little more simple, if not typically seasonal.

Once again, Megan proved that there are no rules in beauty. While bright, shiny reds or oranges are usually very popular in the summer, Megan’s vampy cherry red is a moodier moment. Combined with the long stiletto nails (her go-to nail shape), the look doesn’t feel quite so classic, but instead is cool, unique and fits her aesthetic perfectly.

We don’t know about you, but this nail design nods to the goth movement that’s hotting up for this season and, if you want an anti-summer nail polish, Megan Fox has all the inspo we need.
