When Megan Thee Stallion switches up her hair, it’s truly a celebration. Though she’s worn many hair colors before, she’s been committed to a jet black hue for the last few months. But all that changed on February 9th when she showed out with a glittery, jade green bob and blunt bangs.
The Houston rapper posted an Instagram carousel with eight photos and the caption, “Green Bc I’m manifesting mo money ????.” We’re obsessed with this shade and her vibrant new wig, which is cut into a bob that falls about an inch below her chin, a departure from the usual lengthy options she wears. In this shot, it’s styled into a half-up, half-down ponytail with a slight curve at the ends. Her thick, blunt bangs skim her eyes, accentuating her sharp winged liner. And in between the bright strands of hair, glittery shamrock-hued pieces shine through. Hair tinsel has been trending lately, and we love how Meg added her own colorful twist to the hair accessory.

Her hair isn’t the only verdant thing in the photo dump. In a few of the pictures, we get a peek at her complementary green manicure. The fourth slide shows a clear view of the sparkly mint-hued nails.
Meg chose this green shade as an ode to Izuku Midoriya a.k.a. Deku, the protagonist of the popular anime My Hero Academia, who has hair of the same hue. She sneaks in this reference with a photo of him to the very end of the slide show. This wouldn’t be the first time that she’s used anime as inspiration for her hair. In April 2021, the star shared photos of a hot pink bob with bangs and noted in the caption that it was an ode to the lead character of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. We’re sure this won’t be the last time she references anime characters in her beauty looks. Maybe next time she’ll use Zenitsu or Inosuke from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba as inspiration?
