Aubameyang, 32, joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 in a £60million move.
He started his career in north London superbly, scoring 54 league goals in just 85 league games – picking up a Premier League Golden Boot along the way.
His efforts were rewarded with a bumper £350-000-per-week contract in September 2020 that was set to last until the summer of 2023, alongside being awarded the captain’s armband.
But from there, the Gabonese international’s exploits started to fade, resulting in a tally of just 14 league goals in 43 league games.
After being stripped of the captaincy in December for a series of discipline problems, the club released their man in a bid to save wages – which has led to his former team-mates paying tribute to a largely successful stint in north London.
