The Mets are going to have to wait at least an extra day to try to rid themselves of the taste of a losing road trip and series sweep by the Brewers.
The Mets announced they postponed their home opener at Citi Field on Thursday due to inclement weather in the forecast.
The game against the Miami Marlins will be made up on Friday at 1:10 p.m. as gates will open at 10:40 a.m. and the parking lot at 9:40 a.m.
Fans with paid tickets for Thursday’s rescheduled game can use them on Friday.
Season ticket holders also have the option to exchange their Thursday tickets for another 2023 home game up until 10 a.m. on April 7.
The postponement could be a blessing for a Mets team that was outscored by the Brewers 26-6 in three-game sweep by the Brewers, including a 7-6 defeat on Wednesday thanks to a ninth-inning walk-off home run by Garrett Mitchell.
Pete Alonso did homer twice for the Mets in the loss.
