Mexican rockers Maná aren’t planning on leaving the Kia Forum stage anytime soon as the multi Grammy award-winning band has just added two more shows to its already extensive residency at the Inglewood venue.
The band has added Oct. 21 and 22 to the residency. Tickets start at $35 and go on sale at 10 a.m. July 22 at Ticketmaster.com.
With the additional shows, the residency now consists of a total of 12 evenings at the Kia Forum since the band began its string of concerts there back in March.
Maná, which includes singer Fher Olvera, guitarist Sergio Vallín, bassist Juan Calleros and drummer Alex González, has sold more than 40 million records and won four Grammy awards and nine Latin Grammy awards. The residency was originally announced in November, with four shows on the schedule and a promise from the band to keep adding shows as fans kept buying tickets.
So far, the residency has consisted of two shows per month in March, April, June and July. Upcoming shows are set for Sept.16-17, with Mexican ska veterans Panteón Rococó opening, in addition to the new October dates.
Fans have been treated to a parade of hits as the setlists have featured songs from throughout the band’s nearly 40-year career including “Rayando el Sol,” “Oye Mi Amor” and “Labios Compartidos.” They’re also bringing out special guests like rocker Joe Walsh, who surprised fans by joining the band during its shows on July 15-16 and performing songs like Walsh’s hit, “Rocky Mountain Way” and Maná’s “Corazón Espinado.”
