Michael Kors may be best-known for its epic accessory offering, but the much-loved US-based designer is about to drop a seriously chic sportswear collection in collaboration with another iconic label that may take you by surprise.
After two years of lockdown spent wearing little other than our comfiest tracksuits and loungewear, you’d be forgiven for thinking everyone had had enough of athleisure. But that was before we got a glimpse of the upcoming collaboration collection between Michael Kors and Ellesse.
Suddenly those heels/blouses/dresses we’d fallen back in love with are being sent *back* to the wardrobe, as we prepare to rekindle our love for activewear.
Set to launch in May, the 24-piece capsule collection fuses the two instantly-recognisable logos splashed across a series of track jackets, joggers, hoodies, T-shirts, nostalgic swimsuits, and chunky trainers, logo slides, bucket hats and more, with prices starting from £55.
A true celebration of the iconic athletic styles of the 70s, the signature Ellesse colour palette of reds and oranges is cleverly juxtaposed with classic navy blues and crisp whites throughout the line.
And while you’ll have to wait a little longer to take a look at the full collection, here’s a sneak peek via the collection campaign.
Fronted by none other than Emily Ratajkowski, the image – shot on a Miami tennis court by renowned fashion photographer Lachlan Bailey – provides a glimpse at some of the collection’s hero pieces. While we hate to play favourites, we’re particularly into Emily’s swimsuit (as well as the fact that she, too, pairs her slides with socks… we always knew it was a good look).
Emily is joined throughout the campaign by Brooklyn-based rap musician Jay Critch and models Lexi Boling, Herzen Clerge, Lucas Ucedo, as well as musician Wolftyla and top Japanese internet sensation Kemio.
Keep an eye on this page as we update it with the collection as it drops.
