Along with announcing the new array of coveted stars for fine dining, the Michelin Guide on Monday released its 2022 list of Bib Gourmands, recognition for restaurants that offer “great food at a great value.”
The Bib Gourmands are awarded by Michelin inspectors who dine anonymously around the world. The honorees are restaurants that offer diners two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for about $49, excluding tax and tip. (Inflation has pushed up that amount from the previous $40.)
A few of the restaurant names were announced early to tempt local palates. Those are listed as “new” below.
Returnees from previous lists include the rustic farm-to-table Range Life in Livermore; Italian restaurant iTalico in Palo Alto; Top Hatters, an eclectic San Leandro restaurant; and Spinning Bones, a Cal-Japanese rotisserie in Alameda.
