The North Carolina Tar Heels have gotten off to a slow start in the 2022-23 season, but they have a marquee matchup against the Michigan Wolverines in the Jumpman Invitational.

The Tar Heels have won three straight games after losing four games in a row earlier this season, and they’re favored in what KenPom considers a “semi-home” matchup tonight.

Michigan has losses to Arizona State, Virginia and Kentucky, all ranked teams this season. The Wolverines come in as KenPom’s No. 46 team.

Hubert Davis’ squad has underachieved after making the NCAA Tournament Final last season, but are the Heels starting to find their stride?

Michigan vs. North Carolina prediction and pick

I have no interest in backing a side with how volatile the Tar Heels have been this season, but I do think these offenses make for a great OVER bet.

UNC ranks ninth in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency, and the Wolverines aren’t far behind, ranking 24th.

The Tar Heels haven’t shot the 3 well this season, but these teams are terrific at taking care of the ball, which means there are going to be plenty of shots and even more possessions for points to be scored.

Michigan is No. 1 in the country in turnover percentage while UNC clocks in at No. 29.

UNC has gone over this total in five games this season, and the team has put up three games with 100-plus points scored.

I could see this turning into and offensive showcase with all the talent on both sides, especially since both teams have been so efficient on that end of the floor.
