Even at the age of 56, Mike Tyson still has his speed, explosivity and power after a video emerged of him in the ring with his pad-man amid rumours of a return to the ring in an exhibition style bout. The ‘baddest man on the planet’ did fight in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr and has not ruled out doing the same again, with Logan Paul named as a potential opponent.
The legendary heavyweight had not fought since his retirement in 2005, after previously stating on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that he could not train in boxing ever again as he did not want to ‘reawaken the beast’. But since his 2020 bout, he has trained regularly and now looks to be in the best shape he has been in for decades.
After the Jones Jr fight, which reportedly sold 1.6 million pay per views, a bout with the aforementioned Paul was said to be in talks, but broke down, with Tyson then indicating he wouldn’t fight in a bout again.
However, he has since continued to train and has teased his fans with another comeback, discussing the chances on his podcast and posting several videos of him in training. In his latest video, Tyson stunned fans with his explosivity as he worked the pads, aggressively and quickly working the body of his trainer before firing right hooks.
