New research from the American Psychological Association found that COVID stress impacted Americans, hitting millennials especially hard, with nearly half of more than 3,000 participants reporting that they are having trouble coping with everyday tasks as the coronavirus continues to spread.

Only 37% of Gen Zers, 32% of GenXers, 14% of boomers and 3% of older adults reported they were struggling.

Nearly a third of the adult respondents said they are so stressed about the pandemic that basic decision-making is difficult. More than a third of those who took part said it is more stressful to make small and major decisions now than it was in pre-pandemic times.

More than 60% of younger adults said the pandemic has made them rethink how they are living their life and planning for the uncertain future feels “impossible.”

“When it comes to overall stress, it is not surprising to find that younger generations, who were more likely to say they struggle with basic decisions, also reported generally high stress levels,” the survey said.
