An extremely dangerous and illegal driving move on a WA highway has been captured on dashcam as the death toll rises on Australian roads over the Easter long weekend.
Video, uploaded to Perth’s Worst Drivers Facebook group on Sunday shows cars travelling southbound along Forrest Highway — a 95km stretch of road to Bunbury.
There were cars in both lanes when a blue four-wheel drive crept up behind a red car, located in the right lane.
The four-wheel drive then goes offroad to overtake the red car on the right side, in a shocking and dangerous driving manoeuvre.
The move sparked anger in the comments section.
“Wow, there are really some stupid drivers who just want to tie up our emergency services so that they can get to wherever they’re going at least 5 minutes early,” one person commented.
PerthNow has contacted WA Police for comment.
The stunt comes after vision emerged of a similarly stupid move from a Prado driver.
Vision uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia last week shows a white Toyota Prado speeding down the left-hand emergency lane on Tonkin Highway near the Rowely Road exit, in Hilbert, about 40 kilometers south of Perth.
In the video, the Prado can be seen racing past heavy traffic, before careening into a trailer sign.
The high-speed collision caused the vehicle to flip onto its roof as onlookers watched in horror.
Police confirmed the driver, a 46-year-old man, was helped by members of the public before he was taken to hospital as a precaution. Miraculously, he was not seriously injured.
Tragically over the Easter weekend, 15 lives have been lost on Aussie roads.
In WA, on Sunday morning, a 59-year-old male driver died after his car left the Bussell Hwy and hit a tree in Gelorup, 170km south of Perth.
