Cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became famous after sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.

On one group, a Facebook user asked how to clean their electric hob.

Launie McLeod asked: “How do you clean a black glass top stove?

“I cannot get all the marks off.

“Scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing. So annoying. Even after 15 – 20 minutes of Elbow Grease, there are still spots on the stove.”

The post was inundated with comments but the most common response was to use Pink Stuff paste.

Gemma Clarke said: “I always use a little Pink Stuff and a scrub daddy.

“Leave the Pink Stuff to dry and then lightly with a damp scrub daddy, wipe it off.

“In harder bits, just scrub a little, mine is perfect.”

The Pink Stuff paste can be bought from The Range from 89p or from Morrisons for £1.

Ocado and Poundland also sells it for £1.

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans included shaving foam, Astonish hob cleaner and Hob Bride.

Kathryn Oxley said: “We got told to use shaving foam… Did it once and it kinda worked…”

Julie Ball replied: “I use Hob Brite for 99p from Home Bargains.

“Clean as soon as the hob is cold.

“Rinse it off and use kitchen roll to buff it.

“Not hard work at all still looks like new.”

Kate Rigby replied: “Astonish hob cleaner works every time.”

Sandra Foster said: “Neat fairy liquid on a damp cloth, and a scraper for any stubborn bits.

“Then spray with white vinegar and buff with a micro fibre cloth.”

Diane Roe suggested: “I’ve just used HG Hob Thorough Clean and took everything off.

“Please don’t use anything abrasive like Brillo pads or foil as they will cause minute scratches that are not visible to the naked eye and may cause the glass to crack.”
