The next-generation, two-door hardtop electric Mini Cooper will be shorter and lighter than the current model and built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform. Mini released images previewing the two-door hardtop all-electric Cooper on Tuesday.

According to media reports, it will pack 40 kilowatt-hour and 54-kWh batteries. The current 181-hp electric Mini Cooper provides an estimated 114 miles of range from a 32.6-kWh battery.

The next two-door electric hardtop, which could arrive in 2024, features redesigned headlights and taillights and a new octagonal grille design. The interior has a minimalist dashboard anchored by a floating round OLED touch screen.

Mini will become an all-electric brand by early 2030, and the British marque will roll out its last combustion engine variant in 2025.
