Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel was crowned Miss Universe 2022 at the 71st edition of the prestigious beauty pageant held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States.
Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Kaur crowned her successor R’Bonney Gabriel, who is a fashion designer, model, and sewing instructor with a zest for life.

As per reports, Gabriel instantly fell in love with constructing designs with fabrics and textiles in high school. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design with a Minor in Fibers in 2018 at the University of North Texas and is presently the CEO of her own sustainable clothing line, R’Bonney Nola.
In this edition, Miss Venezuela was the first runner-up, while Miss Dominican Republic was crowned as the second runner-up.
As many as 84 beauty queens took part in the coveted title of Miss Universe 2022. India’s Divita Rai couldn’t make it top 5 after advancing to the top 16.
This edition of Miss Universe 2022 witnessed many firsts, like the debut of Bhutan, and the comeback of countries like Angola, Belize, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Myanmar, Saint Lucia, Seychelles, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay.
