MMA Twitter goes bonkers after nasty KO of Tony Ferguson by Michael Chandler

Michael Chandler is a nasty man and fans found that out after knocking out Tony Ferguson at UFC 274.

Michael Chandler is showing the UFC fans what Bellator fans knew for a decade, you really don’t want to be on the other side of a ring with that man. Many saw the Chandler fight with Tony Ferguson at UFC 274 as less than a good option for the legendary Ferguson. Yet, the fight started off in Ferguson’s favor.

The former interim champion dropped Chandler twice in the first round with some good strikes and even injured Chandler’s eye. The second round was anyone’s ball game, as Chandler had game-ending power, so he was never truly out of any fight.

Yet, no one saw the finish coming. While circling one another, Chandler saw an opening and threw a front kick right down the center, and right up and into the under-part of Ferguson’s face. The strike turned off Ferguson’s lights and sent him to sleep in the Phantom Zone right next to Zod and Kermit The Frog.

Michael Chandler is far from finished

Somehow, Chandler’s post-fight speech was somehow far more energic than anything we saw during the fight. Chandler made sure the world knew who he had next on his mind, and while he wanted another shot at Justin Gaethje, it was the Notorious one, Conor McGregor, that Chandler called out.

Seeing how much power Chandler has, that’s absolutely a matchup the UFC wants. They may not be as good as they once were, but a Chandler and McGregor fight could be the kind of fight that launches either man back into a world title fight.

The fact that Chandler wants it at welterweight is even more bizarre, but considering Ferguson just got knocked out in the most incredible KO of the year so far, why not finish the night with something even more bizarre?
