Moment costume party ends in violence

A petrol station worker has described the shocking moment a teenager dressed as the Hulk rushed into his store pleading for help after his friend was allegedly stabbed.

The teenager was bundled into the back seat of his friend’s car as they made their escape from an 18th birthday costume party that had allegedly descended into violence in the early hours of Saturday morning.

His friend pulled up at a North Richmond petrol station and left the wounded teen in the back seat as he ran inside still dressed in his costume from the party.

“He came inside and asked for my address,” petrol station worker Suresh Chirumamilla told 9 News.

“So I gave him the address, and within two or three minutes ambulance and police were there.”

Paramedics arrived at the petrol station just before 1am to find the 19-year-old suffering from stab wounds.

They drove him to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.

Police have been told the teens were attending a party on an East Kurrajong property when the night took a nasty turn.

The parents of the birthday girl shut down the party at about 12.30am after a crowd of gatecrashers arrived, 9 News reports.

It was at this time that police allege the teens were confronted by three males while trying to leave.

The 19-year-old was allegedly punched in the head and then stabbed twice in the lower back before the group fled the scene in a dark vehicle.

The car was last seen travelling north along East Kurrajong Road.

Police are still searching for the three men allegedly involved in the incident.

They have been described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, aged in their late teens to early 20s, and with heavy builds.

A crime scene has been established and will be forensically examined by police.

An investigation into the incident is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
