Moment hotel staff rip off sunbed hoggers’ unused towels at Lanzarote resort

THIS is the brilliant moment fed-up hotel staff removed towels plonked on empty sunbeds at a resort in Lanzarote.

Footage filmed by a holidaymaker staying at the busy hotel in the town of Puerto del Carmen showed poolside workers promptly removing the unattended red towels at 8.30am.

The video shows one of the staff members picking up towels from a row of unattended chairs by the pool.

It’s the latest in what’s become a summer of sunbed wars as selfish tourists leave their towels on chairs for hours.

TikToker Phil posted the clip online – and claimed he’s been to hotels where towels were left out for an entire week.

Users filled the comments with their thoughts on the matter, and many applauded the hotel worker.

One said: “Watching people doing the sunbed run at the complex behind where I work is quite sad really.

“Up at 6.30 waiting for beds to be unchained at 8.00.”

A woman said: “If I go to put towels out early I stay with them until my boys come down.”

A user replied to her: “Wish more people would be like this. Hope they keep removing towels then put them in lost and found.”

Earlier this week, a TikToker captured the moment security guards ripped off sunbed hoggers’ towels at a Tenerife resort.

The brazen poolside “policing” was captured by a hotel guest and has since gone viral on social media.

TikToker @renovationswithroberta filmed the hilarious incident, which has prompted fellow tourists to call for a ban on the selfish act.

The woman said: “Security taking towels off sun beds that aren’t being used.

“They should do this everywhere.”

“Spot on, you wouldn’t walk into a restaurant and leave your jackets on the chairs to reserve a seat,” a second remarked.

“Good, I totally agree with this,” a third commented.

“This should be in every resort, I get so much satisfaction watching this,” another said.

It comes as a woman captured the moment hotel staff removed towels from sunloungers after cheeky tourists tried to reserve them.

While another couple of “sunbed warriors” were filmed unstacking the beds at a resort, so they could put their towels out earlier than anyone else.
