Monterey doctor arrested on suspicion of sexual exploitation of patient

A 77-year-old doctor was arrested Wednesday for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a patient at his office in Monterey, police said.

Harvey Kryger was arrested at his home in Carmel Valley on suspicion of sexual exploitation by a physician after Monterey police received a report in May about alleged misconduct at his doctor’s office in the 1000 block of Cass Street.

Investigators did not provide more details about the allegations against Kryger but said he was booked into jail Wednesday and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Anyone with information about the case or who is aware of other victims can contact Lt. Jake Pinkas at (831) 646-3816 or pinkas@monterey.org. People wishing to remain anonymous can call (831) 646-3840.
