Two stalwarts of two different sports have achieved so much and are regarded as legends of their respective arena. Despite cricket and tennis not having any cross-over except the use of a ball, we saw a brilliant one on social media.

A Twitter post by Wimbledon ignited a social media frenzy which even prompted Chennai Super Kings to reply.
What happened then? Roger Federer was present to watch his friend Andy Murray in action at Wimbledon. Federer, who retired from Tennis last September, was welcomed with arousing applauds and he enjoyed the match with his wife Mirka at the Royal Box, along with Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.
Murray won the match and Federer’s presence at the event put tennis fans to frenzy as they expressed their excitement on Twitter. The official Wimbledon Twitter account then made it a notch higher with a social media post.
The Wimbledon Twitter posted a snap of Federer waving to fans, with a caption which wrote, “Thalaiva #Wimbledon.”

And that was it, a wave of MS Dhoni and Indian fans took over from there. Dhoni is known as ‘Thala’ in Tamil Nadu, short for Thalaiva, for his association with IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.
The former India captain recently captained CSK to 5th IPL glory and is a much-adored person across the nation. Noticing such a trendy Wimbledon post, CSK’s Twitter handle came with one of their own.
They photoshopped a Wimbledon image of Federer and cropped MS Dhoni’s face in it. Many other Wimbledon stars were photoshopped with other CSK players as Ravindra Jadeja was interchanged with Rafael Nadal, while Shivam Dube and Matheesha Pathirana were cropped as Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz respectively.
