Dhoni was born on 7th July, 1981 at Almora in Uttarakhand. The player moved to Ranchi during his childhood and has been a resident of Ranchi since.

Dhoni made his India debut in 2004 and has been a mainstay in the Indian team till 2019, the year he retired from the game. Dhoni led India to win the T20 World Cup in 2007, then lifted the ICC ODI World Cup in 2011. Under Dhoni, India also won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
Dhoni has been the flagbearer for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and has been the most instrumental foundation for the franchise in becoming the joint most successful franchise with 5 IPL titles to their name.

MS Dhoni’s father Pan Singh Dhoni was a pump operator at MECON, a public sector enterprise in Ranchi.
Pan Singh Dhoni has been a pivotal part of Dhoni’s life. He was one of the main forces behind Dhoni’s success but initially was not in favour of Dhoni playing cricket. Pan Singh wanted young Mahendra to concentrate on his studies instead of playing cricket in school.
In 2001, Dhoni secured a job as Ticket Examiner at the Kharagpur Railway Station which made his father proud.

MS Dhoni’s mother Devaki Devi has been the woman who has been a pillar for Dhoni in every aspect of life. She has provided immense support to her younger son in thick and thin. Devaki Devi also supported Dhoni’s pursuit in cricket. In 2016, Dhoni wore his mother’s name on the back of his jersey in an ODI against New Zealand in Vizag.

MS Dhoni’s Elder Brother
MS Dhoni’s elder brother Narendra Singh Dhoni is a decade older than him.
Narendra is an active politician and is associated with Samajwadi Party (SP) since 2013. Before that, he was a member of the BJP. Narendra lives in his native village in Uttarakhand but is an active Facebook user.

In 2007, Narendra got married and he welcomed two kids a year later. In MS Dhoni’s biopic, Narendra’s name was not mentioned and the elder brother said that he didn’t have a lot of contributions in his brother’s life.

MS Dhoni also has an elder sister named Jayanti. She is married and works as an English teacher. Jayanti’s husband Gautam Gupta is a businessman who is into real estate. They have two daughters.

MS Dhoni’s Wife and Kids
MS Dhoni met his wife Sakshi at Taj Bengal in Kolkata. Dhoni met her through a common friend and Dhoni asked for her number and soon they started their relationship.

Dhoni got married to Sakshi on July 4, 2010 and they had a daughter named Ziva who was born on February 6, 2015.
