Multan Sultans injury update, key players in PSL 2023

Table-topper Multan Sultans have reported no injury updates heading into Tuesday’s match. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan has been in top form with three half-centuries in four innings as the wicketkeeper-opener has amassed 219 runs so far.

His partner Shan Masood is struggling to score runs with just 26 runs in the last three innings. The batter has gone silent after scoring 35 in the Sultans’ first game this season while adding 100 runs for the first wicket.

No.3 Rilee Rossouw’s good show continues too as he scored 30-ball 36 after scoring back-to-back 70-odd knocks. His compatriot David Miller also hit the fifth gear with his first half-century in the season after a couple of 25-odd innings.

Kieron Pollard too had another impactful innings of 21-ball 32 in the last game against Islamabad.

Among bowlers, Afghan Ihsanuullah has been leading the charge with 10 wickets in three games, including two in the last game. Abbas Afridi and Usama Mir have been key to the bowling as well with the later claiming four wickets in the last game. Both the domestic bowlers have now eight wickets each this PSL.

While the trio forms the best bowling team in the PSL so far, Mohammad Ilyas joined the party as well with 2/12 in the last game.

Carlos Brathwaite, who bowled 1/22 in his first match of the season replacing compatriot Akeal Hosein, bowled an unconvincing 0/29 (3 overs) but his bowling variations make him a threat in any condition.

Karachi Kings injury update, key players

Karachi Kings have one major injury update as senior pacer Mohammad Amir is unavailable for the game with a groin injury. The team, however, heads into the game after winning their first match of the season, soundly defeating Lahore Qalandars in Karachi.

Karachi will now play their first game away from home and have sorted out a few key line-up issues. Matthew Wade was back as an opener and gave decent returns with a knock of 36 runs off 24 balls.

His opening partner James Vince, who scored a quickfire 14-ball 20 earlier, got his rhythm going with a knock of 36-ball 43 against Lahore.

Sharjeel Khan was finally dropped, expectedly for his inconsistency while Haider Ali scored just 18 after a duck in the previous innings. Ali, however, has a half-century to his name in the first game while in-form Shoaib Malik had a rare bad outing in the last game but he is the team’s most in-form batter with two half-centuries so far.

Aamer Yamin continues to prosper with the ball as he picked 2/18 after picking three in his first game. Akif Javed turned out to be a revelation as the new joiner (replaced Hamza Mir) picked 4/28 in a crucial win for Karachi.

Imran Tahir has started to get some value from the fast-becoming dry wickets as he gave away just 23 runs in four overs but is yet to fill the wicket column.
