Multan Sultans haven’t made any new injury update and are likely to play this game with the squad fit for the game. Their batting mainstay for the season turned out to be skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Rilee Rossouw. The duo is at the top of the most runs scored this season so far with Rizwan scoring 169 runs in three games while the South African scored 153.
Roussow scored 78 and 75 in his two innings so far at an amazing strike rate of 196.15. His powerful performance in Friday’s game led Sultans to 54-run win over Peshawar Zalmi. Shan Masood was bit off colour with a 25-ball 20.
Kieron Pollard has been in good touch this tournament as scored 6-ball 15 in the slog overs that included two fours and one six. David Miller also used his firepower to deliver 14-ball 23, helping Multan Sultans to score 210.
Among bowlers, Ihsanullah continued his wicket-taking form with 3/24 and now has eight wickets in two games while giving away just 36 runs in less than eight overs. Abbas Afridi and Usama Mir also added to their good spell with 2/33 and 3/22 spells respectively, making Multan Sultans a force to reckon with at PSL 2023.
Among other bowlers, Sameen Gul, who took 2/20 a game ago, proved costly with 26 runs in two overs. Carlos Brathwaite replaced compatriot Akeal Hosein to deliver a credible 22/1 (3 overs)
Islamabad United have no injuries reported going into the game as well. The team defeated Karachi Kings by four wickets and looked largely at comfort during the chase with its middle order firing in a 176-run chase.
Colin Munro fired a 28-ball 58 to revive the chase after openers Paul Stirling and Hassan Nawaz had an offday. Rassie van der Dussen showed some form too with a 25-ball 31.
Wicket-keeper Azam Khan brought his form from Bangladesh Premier League to PSL too with a 28-ball 44, making the chase comfortable.
Among bowlers, Rumman Raees brought his form from Kashmir Premier League with a spell of 2/26. Mohammad Wasim and Tom Curran took a couple of wickets as well but proved costly as the duo together gave away 80 runs. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf took a wicket as well while giving away just 25 runs.
Skipper Shadab Khan’s recent form’s a worry as well as he gave away 40 runs in four overs.
