Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals earned a direct entry into the WPL 2023 final as table-toppers, while Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians, who finished second on the points table, had to get past the eliminator to book their berth.
Record champions in the IPL, MI got one step closer to the first title in the women’s league following a huge 72-run win over third-placed UP Warriorz in the eliminator on Friday (March 24) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Now, the two best sides of the inaugural Women’s Premier League, DC and MI will clash for the title. This will be their third meeting this season with the honours even in the round-robin stage. Both those matches were low-scoring affairs.
