Shaun Murphy and Mark Selby will go into the concluding session of their Duelbits Tour Championship semi-final level at 4-4. The match resumes at 7pm in Hull, with first to ten frames going through to Sunday’s final against Kyren Wilson.
Selby is looking for back-to-back ranking titles having won the recent WST Classic, while Murphy is aiming to win two consecutive tournaments in this series having captured the Duelbits Players Championship crown in February. With both players in form, it was no surprise to see a break over 50 in every frame of the session.
Murphy opened with a run of 96 before Selby, who will regain the world number one ranking if he wins this match, hit back with 67, 63 and 50 to lead 3-1. After the interval, Murphy recovered to 3-3 with 69 and 62, then his opponent compiled a run of 69 in frame seven as he regained the lead. In the last of the session, Murphy gave himself a handy lead with a break of 60, and later sealed it with a thumping long pot on the last red.
