The Full Monty is a miniseries that’s a sequel to the classic 1997 film of the same name. Both the series and the film star Robert Carlyle (from Angela’s Ashes) and Mark Addy (from Game of Thrones) as two unemployed mates living in Sheffield. The series picks up 26 years after their infamous stripping adventures with the gang getting old, and trying new things to stay afloat. This series also stars Talitha Wing (from Alex Rider), Paul Clayton (from Peep Show), and Tom Wilkinson (from Michael Clayton).

Extraction 2

Next up, some intense action!

Extraction 2 is the second film directed by stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave (who previously worked on several Marvel films and also directed the first Extraction). This film once again stars Chris Hemsworth (from Thor) as Tyler Rake, a black ops mercenary recovering from the intense events of the first film. He’s been hired for a new job, to break out a Georgian gangster’s family from prison. But the odds are once again stacked against him, and he’ll have to pull off several impressive stunts to save the day. This film also stars Golshifteh Farahani (from About Elly), Olga Kurylenko (from Black Widow) and Idris Elba (from the Suicide Squad).

The Blackening

Now, let’s take a look at a meta-horror film!

The Blackening is a satirical horror film that wants to examine a common trope of many classic horror films. Frequently, the first victim in a horror film is a black person and this film wants to have some fun with that idea. This film has an all black cast, and it’s about a group of friends hanging out at a cabin for a weekend. They discover there’s a serial killer waiting for them, who tells them they have to figure who among them is the blackest of all. That person will be the first victim. This film stars Grace Byers (from Empire), Jermaine Fowler (from Coming 2 America), and Melvin Gregg (from Nine Perfect Strangers).

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (Season 2)

Next up, the U.S.S. Enterprise is back!

The second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is here! For those who don’t know, this show adapts the adventures of the Enterprise before one Captain James T. Kirk came along. Captain Christopher Pike (played by Anson Mount from Hell on Wheels) leads the ship alongside his First Officer Number One (played by Rebecca Romjin from Femme Fatale) and fan favourite Spock (played by Ethan Peck from the show version of 10 Things I Hate About You). This season also features more appearances from Captain Kirk (played by Paul Wesley from the Vampire Diaries). Predominantly shot right here in the G.T.A., this show also stars Babs Olusanmokun (from Dune), Christina Chong (from Tom and Jerry), and Melissa Navia (from Dietland).

Black Mirror (Season 6)

Lastly, the return of everyone’s favourite streaming depressant!

For those who don’t know, Black Mirror is an anthology show created by Charlie Brooker (the creator of Cunk on Earth and Dead Set) all about the evolution of technology and how humans use it in predominantly nefarious ways. This new season has five feature length episodes, including one about a streaming service that makes content about its viewers, a space drama about losing your mind, and two people making a documentary about a notorious loch. This new season features appearances from people like Annie Murphy (from Schitt’s Creek), Ben Barnes (from Westworld), and Zazie Beetz (from Atlanta).
