Uncoupled is a new show starring Neil Patrick Harris (from Doogie Howser M.D., How I Met Your Mother, and Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle). He plays a gay Manhattanite in his mid 40s who finds himself suddenly single after his boyfriend of nearly 20 years dumps him. He was hoping to spend the rest of his life away from the dating scene, but now he’s thrust back into an unrecognizable dating scene. From Grindr flings to polyamory, he’s got a lot to learn! This show also stars Brooks Ashmanskas (from the Prom), Tisha Campbell (from Martin), and Marcia Gay Harden (from Miller’s Crossing).

D.C. League of Super-Pets is about Krypto (voiced by the Rock from Southland Tales), Superman’s pet dog. Krypto also has superpowers, and due to this he has trouble fitting in with other dogs and animals. One day, every member of the Justice League is incapacitated. Krypto has to team up with other animals that find themselves newly superpowered to save the Justice League, and the world. This film also stars Kevin Hart (from Ride Along), Kate McKinnon (from Ghostbusters), and John Krasinski (from a Quiet Place).

Paper Girls

Now it’s time for some coming of age across time!

Paper Girls is a new show based on a popular comic series by Brian K. Vaughan. It’s about four teenage girls living in Cleveland in 1988. They all work a paper route together, and quickly become friends. One day while working, they find they’ve somehow been transported into the distant future of 2019. They meet future versions of themselves, and learn that there is a war going on between the first time travelers, and other teenagers who want to complete rewrite the past. Our four protagonists will have to band together, and even work with their future selves, to set everything right. This show features Ali Wong (from Birds of Prey), Adina Porter (from True Blood), and Jason Mantzoukas (from the League).

Industry (Season 2)

Next up, it’s time for some high-level finance!
Industry is a show created by HBO and BBC Two. It stars a large ensemble cast, and tells the tale of Pierpoint and Co., an incredibly prestigious investment bank based in London. While the first season follows numerous young candidates hoping to secure a fulltime job, this second season shows them dealing with something a little more intense. Their bosses tell them the London location is at risk of being folded into the New York location, and they’ve got to work hard and monetize whatever they can, however they can to survive. Some of the numerous actors in this show include Ken Leung (from Old), Marisa Abela (from COBRA), and Jay Duplass (from Transparent).

Vengeance

Lastly, a movie about vengeance, culture shock, and podcasts!
Vengeance stars B.J. Novak (from the Office and Inglorious Basterds), and he also wrote and directed the film. He plays a journalist who specializes in podcasting living in New York. A woman that he occasionally sleeps with (played by Lio Tipton from Crazy, Stupid, Love) dies of an opioid overdose, and he decides to see her family in rural Texas. While there, he discovers that her family thinks she was murdered, and they’re looking for revenge. He decides to make a podcast about the experience, focusing on how people can’t comprehend the truth so they make up their own. But maybe, just maybe, there is some truth to their desire for vengeance? This movie also stars Issa Rae (from Insecure), Boyd Holbrook (from Logan), and J. Smith Cameron (from Succession).
