Mystery as newborn baby girl abandoned

An investigation is underway after an abandoned newborn baby girl was found at a home in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services made the discovery after they were called to a home on Girra Road in Blacktown about 2.40pm on Friday.

The baby may have been left between 12.30pm and 2.40pm, police believe.

Paramedics treated the baby before she was taken to Blacktown Hospital for further tests.

Police are making inquiries in the local area to try and locate the mother.
