Chelsea are interested in Julian Nagelsmann after sacking Graham Potter, talkSPORT understands.
Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino also has admirers in the Stamford Bridge boardroom.
Nagelsmann, also on the radar of Real Madrid, is available after his shock dismissal from Bayern Munich.
Chelsea would have to pay a multi-million pound compensation package as he is effectively on gardening leave. But Blues owner Todd Boehly is willing to fork out for the right candidate.
Potter’s departure has shocked Chelsea’s players, who were expecting him to at least be in the dugout for Tuesday’s Premier League game at home to Liverpool and only found out he had gone when the club announced it on social media.
Chelsea had even sent out email invitations to Potter’s pre-match press conference, due to take place on Monday.
Circumstances changed after Potter held talks with American Boehly earlier on Sunday.
Boehly believes Chelsea can still save a disastrous season by winning the Champions League.

Former Brighton boss Potter was well-liked by the majority of Chelsea players but had come under fire from fans after a run of four wins in 16 games.
Ironically, Potter could be offered an immediate return to management at Leicester having been on their radar before joining Chelsea earlier this season.
