Lifestyle! I believe [everyday nails] should be soft and clean, or perhaps a pretty color. We need to take care of our nails and hands as much as we do our skin or hair.
How should you feel leaving the salon?
Since getting your nails done is about enjoying yourself, you should feel satisfied aesthetically. Nail art is about claiming your own style and you should feel confident about it.
Favorite local salon, or nail artist that you look to for inspiration?
I really like @nailsbymei and @nail_unistella. They both brought out in me the drive to create nail art. They are visionary women who seem to never run out of inspiration!
Go-to shape?
Oval square, the most efficient.
Gel or regular?
Gel, without hesitation!
Defining color?
Le Rouge Noir de Chanel (a black red). It’s the embodiment of Parisian elegance.
Clean and simple, or next-level art?
Both. I often swing from clean to extravagant. It’s never boring.
Favorite products for prepping your nails and hands?
To remove nail polish, I use Mavala—the blue one—and castor oil for nail care. For scrubbing, I like RITUALS The Ritual of Ayurveda Body Scrub followed by Typology’s Keratin Hand & Nail Serum. And to repair, I use Mavala’s Repairing Night Cream for Repair.
Matching mani-pedis: a must, or rule meant to be broken?
A rule to be broken! You should go for the things you like at the moment, and why not add some accessories to complete your look?
