This suspension comes as the result of a domestic violence incident that occurred in June 2022. Bridges — who was accused of assaulting his girlfriend in front of their two children — was originally hit with three felony charges. In November, he entered a plea of no contest to a felony domestic violence charge and all remaining counts against him were dismissed.
The NBA says it conducted its own investigation before coming to this punishment decision. Following his arrest and plea last year, Bridges missed all 82 games and did not sign with a new team.
Bridges averaged 20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in 2021-22 and was in line for a possible max contract before his arrest.
