The Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets are fighting for control of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night. Whoever wins Game 3 will break the 1-1 stalemate and take one step closer to a championship.

Fans expect high-quality basketball on the grandest stage, so many scoffed at what they considered excessive flopping by Miami throughout the opening half. Some viewers expressed their displeasure on Twitter.

“The Heat are flopping all over the place,” FantasyLabs founder Peter Jennings claimed.

“Lotta flopping going on from Heat Culture tonight,” Jeff Morton said.

“Heat being rewarded a lot for flopping,” a fan wrote.

“The Heat flopping this much during the Finals is disgusting,” another fan declared.

“The Miami Heat are really, really, really good, at flopping,” Irving Mercedes said.

Flopping has come under heavier scrutiny this postseason. Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr implored the NBA to combat the issue, and the league may listen.

Last month, Shams Charania reported that NBA’s Competition Committee will discuss penalizing flopping with a technical foul. FIBA already has a similar rule in place.

Despite fan complaints, the Heat got called for more fouls (11) than the Nuggets (nine) through two quarters. Denver has a 53-48 lead at halftime.
