Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves was one of the breakout stars of the 2023 NBA playoffs. His sudden rise in popularity has earned him his own signature shoe deal.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Thursday that Reaves is signing a shoe deal with the Chinese shoe company Rigorer. Per the report, the deal will pay him seven figures per year.
Reaves averaged just 13 points per game mostly off the bench during the 2022-23 regular season. But over 16 postseason games, Reaves was one of the Lakers’ best players, averaging over 16 points per game through the entire 2023 playoffs and over 21 points in the Western Conference Finals.
Many fans are congratulating Reaves on getting his money, while others are lamenting that if someone with Reaves’ production played for a different team, he wouldn’t be getting nearly as much hype:
if this guy isn't on the Lakers he might be out of the league man https://t.co/qvtMcsjuVf
