The Boston Celtics have been eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, and one player on the team has made it clear that he wants out.

It’s not Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown or Marcus Smart. It isn’t Al Horford or Robert Williams.

The player that has requested a trade is Payton Pritchard.

According to Jay King and Jared Weiss of The Athletic, Pritchard has made it clear he would like to be traded. Pritchard saw his role diminish this season under Joe Mazzula, going from appearing in 71 games last season to only 48 this season.

NBA fans reacted to Pritchard’s trade demand.

“Alright get this loser off the team package him and Brogdon for some wing depth and move on,” one Celtics fan said.

“I mean yeah. The kid wants to play and he’s about to be behind even JD on our depth chart at guard,” said another fan.

“Really disappointing. Pritchard deserves more minutes. Hope the return is something decent,” said one fan.

The Celtics roster could look different heading into the 2023-24 season. The starting lineup is expected to remain intact, but a shuffling of role players isn’t out of the question. If Pritchard gets his way, he could be one of those players on the move.
