Trae Young produced 24 points and a season-high 17 assists to lead a balanced offensive attack as the Atlanta Hawks turned it on in the second half for a 125-106 win over the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.
The Hawks rallied from six points down in the second period to take a one-point advantage at halftime. Atlanta put the game away in the third period, when it outscored the Spurs by 15 points, and cruised to its fourth win in six games.
San Antonio has dropped a season-worst 12 games in a row and 14 straight road contests.
De’Andre Hunter added 24 points for the Hawks while Dejounte Murray scored 18 in his first game against his former team. John Collins had 17 points, Clint Capela tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds and Bogdan Bogdanovic contributed 13 points.

Keldon Johnson led all scorers with 25 points while Jeremy Sochan added 18 points and Malaki Branham had 10 for the Spurs.
A 15-2 run midway through the first quarter capped by a 3-pointer by Bodganovic gave the Hawks a 23-15 lead.
Sochan’s dunk, the final of his 11 points in the opening period, pulled San Antonio to within 32-31 after 12 minutes of play.
The lead changed hands three times in the first two minutes of the second period and left the Spurs up 36-35 after a 3-pointer by Sochan at the 10:12 mark.
San Antonio pushed to a six-point advantage on two occasions before the Hawks battled back to tie the game at 53 on Collins’ basket with 1:57 to play. Young’s jumper with 7.8 seconds to play in the half allowed Atlanta to take a 61-60 lead into the break.
Sochan and Johnson led all scorers with 18 points apiece at the half.
Hunter’s 17 points, and Young’s 12 points and 10 assists paced Atlanta.
Atlanta took charge in the third quarter, stretching its advantage to 93-77 after ending the period with a 9-2 run.
By the start of the final period, each of the Hawks’ starters had scored in double figures.
