It’s safe to say some fans don’t like Kyrie Irving.
While the Dallas Mavericks’ recently acquired guard Kyrie Irving was introduced as an All-Star starter for the 2023 All-Star Game, Irving was greeted with a series of boos.
“Did Kyrie just get booed in Utah?” asked Nets podcaster Cody Mallory.
One NBA reporter noted that Irving was the only All-Star starter to get a series of boos during player introductions.
Despite whatever the reason for the boos, it’s not because of game. Irving carried the Brooklyn Nets while Kevin Durant was sidelined with a knee injury before Irving was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks before the trade deadline.
Irving is averaging 27.2 points per game and 5.4 assists this season while shooting 49 percent from the field.
In three games with the Mavericks, Irving is 28.3 points per game and 7.0 assists while shooting an impressive 53.3 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from long distance.
